Support for Parents and Families

The introduction of our carer’s support in a family often marks a turning point for those who have been finding looking after a child or young person with disabilities or behavioural issues challenging. Our carers have been professionally trained and have plenty of experience to draw upon when it comes to seeing the bigger picture.

They are often ideally placed to offer a new angle or different coping mechanisms to family members, suggesting new tactics and supporting with advice and tips. Aside from helping the child or young person to deal with things on a day-to-day basis they can also help put a plan in place for the future.

We understand that if someone is going to be coming into your home on a regular basis, you’ll want them to fit in with the lifestyle and routines of your family unit. For this reason, we try really hard to match our care assistants as closely as we can with your family, aiming to find someone we think you would all get on with best.

As a parent there might be several reasons why a little extra support at home is much needed. You might wish to get ready for a time when you won’t be able to be your child’s or young person’s main carer; you might want to help them to learn essential skills for living independently; or you might have reached a point where you definitely need extra support with daily life. We’re here to help with ways of coping for the future and tailoring support to your individual situation.
